The Tool Box Team...

 

Proprietor David Fouracre spent 20 years in retail management before purchasing the Tool Box in 1992. He's an 'O' gauge fine-scale railway modelling enthusiast - which might explain his penchant for small-scale Starrett measuring equipment. He is a keen founder member of the Exeter Gauge O Group. He lives in Colyton with his wife and some of his five daughters. He has recently taken up horse-riding, and is regularly to be seen on his generously-proportioned bay Ardennes gelding Dan (below). Both David and his wife Susan (who regularly helps out in the shop) enjoy classical music and singing - David sings on a semi-professional basis. These interests are reflected in the music played in the shop - more Bach Brahms and Beethoven than Black Sabbath!

  
Bob Olliver is a "young retired" school-teacher... who has endured the fast learning curve about the tool business as he regularly helps out "front of house". In his spare time he is an avid bird-watcher, so the location of the shop beside the River Coly suits him admirably!

Michael Bright beavers away backstage in the workshop on cleaning and renovation. He is Mr FixIt par excellence, a hoarder of anything that "might be useful one day", and an ardent car-booter. A wizard at all things technical, his only problem is his reluctance to apply the oil-can ...
