We see an enormous range of used books in the shop, and even if the connection with tools is a bit tenuous at times, if we think our customers would be interested then we will put them on our shelves. Not all the books we stock are detailed here, and you won't find many titles from our new book range featured. We stock nearly all of the 'Workshop Practice' series for model engineers, as well as varied titles on obscure topics such as hedge-laying and stickmaking. All books in this listing are pre-owned, unless marked [N] after the title, indicating a new book. If you are looking for a specific out-of-print title then do let us know. We've recently changed the layout of the page to highlight fewer titles.

This somewhat esoteric tome came from one of my good customers one of whose interests was building model cranes. This book deals with their full-size design, construction, application and operation. The 1958 3rd edition book has had a bit of a rough life, and the cover boards are loose, but it is still a fascinating reference. £12.00

"The Traditional Furniture Maker" by David Bryant contains a selection of classic furniture plans and drawings, generously supported by photographs and information regarding techniques to build good reproductions - hardback, £12.00

This 1990 reprint has been out-of-print for some years, so is, we understand, much sought after by cane and rush workers. The book is in very good condition, hardback - £27.00

This book is in essence a collector's guide to these evocative cars. However, for anyone interested in the Austin Healey marque there are lots of interesting snippets. £9.00

This wonderful 1942 book, "Guide to Flying" prepared by "The Aeroplane" is a real gem; the text is illuminating, there are three coloured fold-out cutaway drawings, dozens of photos and line drawings, and either end of the book is stuffed with evocative advertisements from the time. Rolls-Royce engines, Short Stirling aircraft, Marconi radar, Lea Bridge parachutes and barrage balloons - they are quite fascinating. Hardback, in very good condition - £15.00

This 1998 book by Sean Rossiter and published by Midland Publishing Limited tells the compelling tale of two of the world's greatest aircraft, and of the engineers and pilots who made the Otter and Twin Otter aviation legends. In excellent condition - £10.00

This book by Walter Boyne - Director of the National Air & Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution - is a fascinating retrospective of the leading achievements in aviation technology. Generously illustrated, it will repay either serious reading or the occasional dip into its contents. Good dj, book very good - £8.00

A three-volume Book Of The Motor Car by Rankin Kennedy, undated but probably around 1915-1920. The hardback covers are somewhat faded, and some of the endpapers have pulled from the binding, but the text pages are all in very good condition. Covers a wide range of contemporary subjects, including the Stanley steam car. £45.00
