We sell quality used hand tools, light machinery and books for a wide range of crafts - woodworking, carving, wood-turning, model and full-size engineering, watch and clock making, bookbinding, gardening .....
We are always delighted to buy tools in good condition, whether individual items or complete collections. Woodworking hand tools (especially by Stanley, Preston, Norris, or Record), engineering tools, precision measuring equipment, light workshop machinery (wood and metalworking) and garden tools are all of interest. Collections of tools for the rarer skills are of particular value. Please contact us if you have items for disposal.
Our aim is to offer a wide range of good quality used tools and light machines at realistic prices. Due to the diverse and unpredictable nature of our stock we don't publish catalogues; however we do keep a register of customer requirements and will endeavour to fulfil these - just let us know what you are searching for. We're delighted to supply by mail where realistic - just ask us for details. Come on in!
The shop is open Monday to Saturday throughout the year from 9.00am to 5.00pm, closing for lunch from 1.00pm to 2.00pm Monday to Friday. We are usually closed on Bank Holidays - please phone to confirm before travelling.
In early February I went in to see the fellows in blue coats who took a sharp knife to one of my knees. I'm delighted to say the new joint is performing very well indeed, and on 12th April they tackled the other knee. I have had a remarkable number of good wishes from so many customers during my recovery - THANK YOU ALL! However, as last time I'll be away from the shop for about three weeks. I will endeavour to answer all emails, but the web site 'Late Arrivals' pages will probably become a little outdated. The shop will be open normal hours with my doughty helpers Bob and Barry, and they will do their best to answer questions.
Just to remind you all, THE BUSINESS IS FOR SALE! If you (or someone you know) fancy a lifestyle change living in this glorious corner of East Devon then please do get in touch with David - preferably by email or letter rather than telephone in the first instance - for more information.
In these pages we try to give you a flavour of what's come into the shop recently. It's not meant to be a comprehensive catalogue of all our stock, but it will highlight the more enticing items that are on offer. Get in touch if there's anything that interests you.
